THEATRES RAIDED
DISAPPOINTED BURGLARS Burglars who entered two city theatres, the Majestic and Roxy, in search of money, must have been disappointed, for they left both houses of entertainment without I any. In both cases the burglars gained entrance after forcing an exit door at the rear of the premises. The Majestic was entered in the early hours of Saturday morning and the door of the manager's office broken open, as well as locks being forced from drawers. The Roxy Theatre was raided some time between Saturday night and this morning. The office was ransacked and a visit paid to the operator's box, from which some equipment consisting of two pick-ups and radio valves were taken. No money is ever left in this theatre, or. for that matter, in any of the other theatres owned by Amalgamated Theatres. Ltd. For years past it has been the firm's practice to lodge takings from its many theatres in the bank after every performance.
