AUCKLAND FISH PRICES
An official of the Price Tribunal in Auckland said yesterday he had been informed from Wellington that new prices for the sale of fish were being gazetted this week and would come into force on Tuesday. Later, he was advised that the gazetting of the prices had been delayed and was then informed that the matter had not been made final. Confusion among retailers had followed these conflicting messages and wholesalers were paying fishermen an extra id per lb for snapper, tarakihi, hapuka, moki. John dory and crayfish. Retailers were paying the wholesalers a higher price, and in many cases were alread3 r charging the public as much as lid more a fillet and 2Jd per lb more for smoked snapper. '
