HARD OF HEARING

A successful year's work by the New Zealand League for the Hard of Hearing was reviewed by the president, Dr. J. Hardie Neil, at the eleventh annual meeting of the league. A'presentation was made to the honorary organising secretary. Miss Flora Plummer, who has retired after six years' service.

In his report. Dr. I-lardie Neil stated that the successful efforts of the Government to standardise batteries for hearing aids would result in a great saving for those who were compelled to use them. It was moved that those who were definitely disabled by hardness of hearing be brought within" the Social Security Act.

Officers elected included: President, Dr, Hardia Neil; board of governors. Miss B. Carnachan, Mesdames D. W. Dunlop, J, Johnson, Miss M. Shutes, Mr. A. E. Ford, Dr. E. I. A. Macdonald; organising secretary, Mrs. D. W. Dunlop.
