FIVE SHIPS A DAY
WASHINGTON, Aug. 26.
Mr. Roosevelt in his report disclosed that the American merchant fleet had increased 250 per cent since the attack on Pearl Harbour. It was now growing at the rate of five new ships a day. Ship production was proceeding at such a pace, he added, that it was difficult to supply adequately trained crews.
