THROUGH UPPER HOUSE
AMENDING LEGISLATION (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Legislative Council yesterday afternoon passed without amendment the Workers' Compensation Amendment Bill, the War Pensions Bill, the War Pensions and Allowances (Mercantile Marine) Amendment Bill, the Otaki and Porirua Trusts Bill, the Papawai and Kaikokirikiri Trusts Bill, the Native Purposes Bill, and the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill.
An attempt by Mr. T. O. Bishop, in the Committee stage, to add 'a clause to the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Bill providing for the right of appeal from the Arbitration Court, was defeated. Before the Council adjourned until after the election members thanked the Speaker, the officers and one another for co-operation during the year.
