RETIRING MEMBERS
TRIBUTES IN THE HOUSE
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Tributes to the work of retiring members were paid by the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, the Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Holland, and other members at the final sitting of the House of Representatives last •evening. Special mention was made of-the services to the counti-y of the former Prime Minister, the Right Hon. G. W. Forbes, who had represented Hurunui for 36 years. Others mentioned were Mrs. Poison (Nat., M. Canterbury), Mr Lee Martin (Government, Raglan), Mr. Dickie (National, Patea), Mr. Wilkinson (Independent, iiigmont?, Dr. McMillan (Government, Dunedin West), and Mr. Cobbe (National, Manawatu).
