SIR ERNEST DAVIS' SUGGESTION

As a tangible act of gratitude from New Zealand to Russia; the seeding of a gift of clothing, or of wool and hides was suggested by Sir Ernest Davis when presiding at last nights meeting of the Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society Mr T. Jackson and Mr. u. 1. Paterson suggested that medical supplies would be more acceptable to Russia partly because their method of dress was different from ours. Mr S E. Langstone said that he was quite sure farming organisations would respond generously to .an Appeal for sheepskins for the Soviet Sir Ernest reminded members that 9000 odd articles had already been forwarded to Russia by the Red Cross Society, among them being Sh Th P e Sk mltter was referred to the standing committee with power to act.
