RECTOR RETIRING

(0.C.) GISBORNE, this day. Presentations were made to Mr. James Hutton marking his retirement from the post of rector of Gisborne High School at a function sponsored by the Parents and Old Students' Association. The gifts included a silver tray and inscribed board from the Board of Governors, a painting of the school from ex-stu-dents, and a watch from parents. Warm tributes were paid to the efficiency with which Mr. Hutton had conducted the school.
