WANGANUI BURGLARIES

(0.C.) WANGANUI, Tuesday. A series of burglaries in the Wanganui business area during the past month was followed by the arrest of Edward Ericson Clarke, labourer, aged 20, who appeared before Mr. J. H. Salmon, S.M., to-day and admitted four charges of breaking and entering and theft, and two of breaking and entering with intent .to commit a crime. He was committed to the Supreme Court at Wanganui next week for sentence. In a statement accused said he was on compensation from his work because of a poisoned hand, and as he was in need of money decided to break into the shops.
