JOCKEY INJURED

The successful Auckland rider, J. Williamson, sustained a cracked ankle bone while riding Ascot Bloom m the Tangahoe Hurdles at Hawera on Saturday. The injury will keep him out of the saddle for a little while. , During the running of the race, Williamson's foot became entangled with the sear on another horse, and this was the cau'e of the trouble. The lad rode on and finished second, and, what te more, he weighed out to ride Black Plato in the Telegraph Hack, but, after completing the preliminary, realised that he could not do the horse justice. Another jockey was substituted and Black Plato won, returning a big dividend.
