APPLE JUICE SAMPLES

(P.A.) - NELSON, Friday. Samples of concentrated apple juice prepared at Cawthron Institute are to be submitted to the Internal Marketing Department and the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation for their opinion. If the juice proves of commercial value it may open a new avenue for the disposal of reject fruit in the Nelson district. At a meeting of the Cawthron Trust Board the director, Sir Theodore Rigg, exhibited samples of the concentrated juice prepared in the chemical laboratory by - Dr. H. O. Askew. Juice from a number of different apple varieties had been prepared in concentrated form and shewed a considerable range in taste and character.
