EVIDENCE AT INQUEST WOMAN COMMENDED "You are to be commended for what you did," said the coroner, Mr. F K. Hunt, addressing Mrs. Sarah Mold, of Jellicoe Road, Panmure, at the conclusion of an inquest into the circumstances of the death of James Norman Spence, aged 13, whose parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. Spence, also reside in Jellicoe Road. Evidence was given that on April 2 last a tree fell down in Jellicoe Road, breaking the telephone wires, one of which came into contact with the power line on the other side of the road. The dead boy, in trying to get past the tree, became entangled in the telephone wire. Mrs. Mold went up to him and released him by cutting the wire with an axe. The boy was attended by . Dr. Brantley, but he could only pronounce life extinct. . , A verdict that death was due to electrocution was returned.
