GUNSHOT WOUND

WOMAN IN HOSPITAL INCIDENT AT TRENTHAM (P.A.) WELLINGTON, this day. Having received a gunshot wound in the abdomen at Trentham railway station about 10 o'clock last night, a young woman was later admitted to tne public hospital in Wellington in a serious condition. She is Miss Lily Grey, whose address is given as 17, Ardavon Terrace. Before being taken off by ambulance she was attended by a military doctor. Miss Grey is aged 39 and is infant mistress at the Seatoun School. Her address is 17, Norton Terrace. She Avas engaged as a voluntary helper at a Salvation Army institute and was about to board a train for Wellington. It was reported this afternoon that she had been operated on and her condition was fair.
