SCHOOLBOY KILLED
When the wheel of a school bus passed over him yesterday morning at Birkdale, a seven-year-old boy was killed instantly. He was:— Terrance Raymond Walton, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Walton, of Puriri Road, Birkdale. Evidence was given at an inquest yesterday afternoon that the boy grasped the hand of another boy who was standing on the bus step when the vehicle was at the corner of Birkdale and Puriri Roads. He ran alongside the bus, slipped on the metal and fell under the wheel. The coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, returned a verdict of accidental death.
