FAREWELL SOCIAL

There was a large and representative gathering in the Epsom Methodist Church hall to farewell the Rev. F. and Mrs. Copeland and family on their departure for Napier. Mr. W. E. Burley, circuit steward, presided, and representatives of organisations within the church and outside the church expressed appreciation of the work and influence of the guests. On behalf of the ladies of the church, Mrs. A. Peak presented Mrs. Copeland with a bouquet, and on behalf of the Auckland East Circuit Mr. Burley handed a cheque to Mr. Copeland. In reply, Mr. Copeland paid a tribute to the spirit of co-operation and goodwill existing in all departments of the church. A musical programme included an anthem by the choir.
