OLD SERVANTS RETIRE
Tribute to long and faithful service was paid at a social gathering held in the Bayswater Boating Club Hall to two retiring members of the Devonport Steam Ferry Company's staff. The guests of honour were the traffic manager, Mr. A. C. Dacre, and the superintendent engineer, Mr. D. Baillie. Both have completed 40 years' service with the company. The gathering was a large one, and included representatives of many Auckland business firms. Mr. George Prentice, assistant manager of the company, presided, and presentations were made to Messrs. Dacre and Baillie by Mr. Gordon Prentice, cashier, on behalf of fellow employees.
