Crash Of R.A.A.F. Transport Plane Near Brisbane WOMEN AMONG VICTIMS MELBOURNE, Mar. 29. Twenty-three service personnel were killed when a Royal Australian Air Force transport plane crashed near Brisbane early on, Saturday morning. * The victims were three women service members, two American Army officers, one Australian Army officer and 17 members of the R.A.A.F. There were no survivors. The plane, which was flying from Brisbane to Sydney, crashed into heavy timber shortly 'after taking off in darkness and was totally destroyed. An inquiry will be held to ascertain the cause of the crash.
