HITLER NEEDS OIL
—' 1 NEGOTIATIONS WITH RUMANIA LONDON, Jan. 14, According to the Scandinavian Telegraph Agency, reports from Berlin state that Rumanian blood and oil were the two main demands . Hitler presented to the Prime Minister of Rumania, General Antonescu, when they met at Hitler's headquarters, says Reuters Stockholm correspondent. All reports about the meeting stress its importance. This is regarded in Stockholm as a sure indication that the shortage of petrol, particularly lubricating oil reserves, is worrying Hitler more and more. The Telegraph Agency Berlin correspondent says it would hardly be premature to assume that oil was the chief subject of the negotiations. The Germans have often emphasised that the Rumanian troops have made a valuable contribution on the eastern front. It may be assumed the maximum _ concentration of Rumanian forces will follow immediately, and that new divisions possibly will be sent to the eastern front.
