Rec. 1.30 p.m. CHUNGKING, Dec. 28
China's post-war ideals are given by the official Central Daily News as follows:—(1) The disarming of Japan and the return of all former Chinese territories; temporary Allied occupation of Japan to ensure that the peace terms are properly carried out; punishment of Japanese militarists responsible for the war.
(2) Abolition of all unequal treaties with foreign Powers and all treaties affecting China's sovereignty; abolition of laws and regulations giving overseas Chinese discriminatory treatment; increased economic co-op-eration with foreign Powers to accelerate the industrialisation of China.
(3) Recognition of the rights of small, weak Asiatic States of selfdetermination and self-government.
China's good neighbour policy of economic and political co-operation is based on equality, abolition of ideas like that of the white man's burden and absolute economic equality of Chinese living in countries like Thailand, Malaya, the Philippines and the Dutch East Indies.
The newspaper adds that China is not cherishing ideas like an Asiatic Monroe Doctrine.
