GOLDEN WEDDING

MR. AND MRS. A. BRITTAIN

The golden wedding was celebrated to-day of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Brittain, of Te Atatu Road, Henderson. They were married at Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire, England, and came to New Zealand in 1914 on the liner Ruahine. Mr. Brittain was born at Tring, Hertfordshire, and worked in England as an insurance agent. On coming to Auckland he was associated with the Singer Sewing Machine Company for nine years, and for a similar period was in business at Ponsonby Road as a stationer. While in England, Mr. Brittain was a local preacher in the Wesley an Church. He is now 70 years of age, and Mrs. Brittain is 73. They have one son, Mr. B. Brittain, living at Te Atatu Road.
