LIBERTY LOAN OPENS

Remaining open for public subscription until November 15, the second Liberty ■ a /l «°P enecl to-day. The sum aimed at is £10,000,000, and in view of the fact Liberty Loan was over-subcribed, £17,500,000 being raised. It is expected that the present loan will prove another success. The money will be devoted entirely to war purposes. Two classes of stock are offered, namely 24 per cent repayable on May 15, 1948, pe T r c \ ent repayable on May 15, • . - e case of the longer term the Minister of Finance retains the rieht to repay at any time after May 15, 1953 on giving three months' notice. Those desiring to take up the new loan bv instalments can do so on the following terms:—3o per cent on application, 30 per cent on December 15, and 40 per cent on January 27, 1943.
