MARKET OPENS FIRMLY
Keen buying demand was again manifested when the Auckland Stock Exchange resumed to-day after the week-end break. Bank of New Zealand shares were placed at £2 0/9, a rise of 3d on last week and of 1/ on the level a month ago. A parcel of Standard Insurances was quickly snapped up at £3 7/ against £3 in May when last business was reported here. Australian stocks were firm and Colonial Sugars were cleared at £51, a gain of 5/. Apart from a seller of Liberty Loan 3 per cents at par, the gilt-edged mai-ket was bare of supplies.
