MR. HOLLAND'S RESIGNATION
Mr. Holland is to be commended unreservedly for his action in retiring from the War Ministry. The sole reason for its existence was to do away with party strife and secure an all-in war effort. It failed in these objectives, firstly because the Government in making the agreement did not speak for the Labour Move'u. en *' as a w holc: secondly, they showed themselves unable to control or check disloyal movements: and. thirdly, because they have made a farce of Parliamentary Government by condoning the actions of law-breakers and then entering into a .- V lu " lch appeasement agreement with those same law-breakers which said agreement is likelv to last not even as long as its model and certainly will not secure "peace in our time." The noble poses of Messrs. Coates and Hamilton leave me cold and if they take the line of action piedicted it will only accentuate the political chaos. P. M. CVRNOm".
