PRISONERS ESCAPE

(0.C.) HAMILTON, this day. Two prisoners, Edward Thomas Devlne, aged 23. and George Ivan Burlase, aged 27, escaped from the Waikeria Borstal Institution on Saturday afternoon. Up to midday today no trace of the men had been reported. Devine was sentenced at Wellington In May last to one year's imprisonment, and Burlase was sentenced at Wellington in July last to three years' hard labour. This escape Is the third to be made by prisoners from the Waikeria institution within the last week. On September 28, two men made their escape while working in a field gang, but were recaptured two days later. Another man made a bid for liberty last Thursday afternoon, but was caught at Otorohanga the same
