REPORTED OVERDUE

Wendell Willkie En Route To

Chungking

JOURNEY FROM MOSCOW

Rec. 1.30 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct 1

Mr. Wendell Willkie, Special American Envoy to the United Nations, who was flying to Chungking from Moscow, is reported to be overdue. The 8.8.C. on Tuesday announced his arrival, but this has not since been officially confirmed. -Associated Press correspondent at Chungking says that the Chinese authorities do not think-he is sufficiently overdue to warrant any anxiety. *

The presence of Japanese reconnaissance planes over Chungking indicates that the Japanese may be planning to interfere with the celebration to welcome Mr. Willkie
