MAUKU BRIDGE
REPAIR WORK DELAYED Badly needed repair work on the Mauku bridge on the PapakuraWaiuku main highway was held up because supplies of timber were not available, the engineer, Mr. A. C. Bettany, said at a meeting of the Franklin County Council yesterday. In view of the condition of the structure and the volume of traffic which passed along the highway, the engineer was asked to press for early fulfilment of the council's order for bridge timber.
