NEW COASTAL BOAT

A new boat for service on the Auckland-Coromandel run arrived yesterday for survey. She was christened Maritana. Partly built in Auckland 18 months ago from Mr. Chas. Bailey's plans, she was completed at Coromandel by her master and owner, Mr. Sam Strongman. Maritana is 65ft overall, 14ft 6in beam, and 4ft draught. She is powered with a 120 hp. Diesel motor, which gives her a speed of 9i knots. It is expected to commence running for passengers and cargo shortly.
