TRANSFER OPPOSED
Objection to his transfer to an essential industry on the grounds of conscience was voiced by Neil Morven McDougall, a dispatch clerk employed by the Mryl Shoe Company, Limited, when he appeared before the Industrial Manpower Committee, yesterday. The district manpower, officer" Mr. T. G. Fielder, said that when McDougall was directed to transfer from his employment to essential work at the Reid Rubber Mills at Penrose, due consideration was given to his religious beliefs, and an assurance was given that he would be working on nonmilitary articles. When it was pointed out to McDougall that the Myrl Shoe Company was engaged on making uppers for army boots he stated that he was engaged in the dispatch department for ladies' shoes only. The committee dismissed McDougall's appeal against his transfer to the other company.
