Germans Claim Sinking Of Six Of Ten Vessels RECENT DASH FROM SWEDEN Rec. 12.30 p.m. LONDON, April 8. A German communique claims that the German Navy and Air Force sank six of the Norwegian ships which, sailing under British captains, attempted to escape to Britain from Gothenburg, Sweden. The German communique states that German naval forces saved and took prisoner 136 of the crew of the Norwegian ships which tried to dash through the Skager Rak. The majority of the crews were British. German patrol boats challenged the vessels outside Swedish waters. The Storsten and Gudvang were sunk. In an ensuing artillery duel the floating whale oil factory Skytteren went dow*n. The Buckaneer and Charente scuttled themselves. The Dicto and Lionel returned to Gothenburg. The Luftwaffe sank the Rigmor. Only the 10,000-ton tanker Newton escaped.
