MILITARY FUNERAL
SIGNALMAN R. H. COCKER
A large number of soldiers was present at the funeral of an army motor cyclist, .Signalman Robert Henry Cocker, son of Mr. R. Cocker, of 52, New North Road, Eden Terrace, who was killed in a collision at Paerata on Friday. The service at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, Khyber Pass Road, and at the graveside in Hillsboro' Cemetery was conducted by the vicar, the Rev. R. B. Davison. and the Rev. N. E. Winhall. an army enaplain returned frorr the present war. '
A guard of honour inside the church was formed by members of ■the church boy's club, while a party of lads from the Orafton school performed the same office outside. The pallbearers and the firing party of 16 were members of a military unit. At the graveside a bugler played the Last Post and the Reveille. Signalman Cocker, who played for the Metro-College and Thistle Soccer Clubs, was the youngest Auckland representative goalkeeper. The Auckland Football Association was represented at both services.
