WOMEN CO-OPERATE
BRITAIN AND AMERICA
Further instances of co-operation between America and Britain have come from the United States recently. Mrs. Roosevelt announced that fourteen women representing American organisations visit England "to see what British women are doing in the war effort." They would travel in groups of two or three, she said.
The New York Times says that this was in response to an invitation extended by Miss Caroline Haslett, adviser to the British Ministry of Labour on the employment of women in war industries, who visited the States at the end of last year. Miss Haslett was accompanied on her seturn to England by Miss Eloise Davison, who has been appointed to study women's volunteer defence work in England and conduct a lecture tour of the United States on her return, to report on her observations.
