Walter Moore Classic Entry In Auckland Trotting Cup
Walter Moore, Dominion champion three-year-old last season, which he wound up with four wins in succession, is- an outstanding entry in the Auckland Trotting Cup, to be run at Alexandra Park on Saturday, December 27. After commencing with a victory in the Fairlie Handicap at Timaru on March 8 last, this son of Quite Sure ind Regina Logan went on to Ashburton to run away with the New Zealand Futurity Stakes, the field comprising the best horses aged three in the country. He next took the Metropolitan All-Aged Stakes at Addington and the All-Aged Stakes at Ashburton, while last? week, at Forbury Park, he won the Churchill and Eden Handicaps. He holds two Australasian records— two years, one mile, 2.10 4-5, and, three years, one mile and a quarter, 2.41. Walter Moore is raced by his breeder, Miss J. Cuff. The nominations for the meeting, which will be held on December 27, 30 and 31, are good, and although the Cup itself has attracted only ten entries the class Is distinctly good.
