PEACE AND WAR
It is probable, though difficult to prove, tnat pacifism practised as a national policy would produce better results than war. with far less suffering. It should be ;*qually ckc that any attempt to pi the two together is quite futile and only weakens the adopted programmemeaning the war effort. As tbe teachings of Christ are not ao ambiguous that anyone could reason* a"bly claim he was an advocate of war and, assuming we are nominally Christians and not Jews, It* pathetic to see the attempts of soue people to justify war on the basis of the Old Testament. Why not be honest and admit that pacifism |s impractical just now because tkt war has already started and, art- - way. we are not sufficiently Christian? H-M.ILI
