MEMORIAL HOSTEL

SUBSCRIPTION LIST OPENED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The Paul Hoskins memorial hostel for young men subscription list has been opened by Archbishop O'Shea with an interim donation of £250. Other generous donations have also been received. The memorial executive is working on plans to raise £10,000. Its estimate is that with this sum in hand it could finance the erection of a hostel to provide accommodation for 50 Roman Catholic youths of the type who comie to Wellington each year to enter the civil service, industry and commerce. Prior to the formulation of a campaign to cover the archdiocese of Wellington and then all New Zealand, a personal canvass for subscriptions will be carried out.

The late Mr. P. D. Hoskins was president of the Superior Council of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
