CAREFUL PACKING ASKED

(P. A.) WELLINGTON, Saturday. The Postmaster-General, Mr. Webb, says there is still a lack of appreciation of the need for adequate packing of parcels for abroad. These parcels have to undergo a great amount of handling in difficult transit of all kinds. [ The best type of parcel is that in | which a tin container is used with the lid soldered down. Early posting of Christmas cards and gifts is advised by Mr. Webb. To-day 2100 postal officers are absent with the forces, not to mention those released for territorial training, and the task ahead of those left is one of the first magnitude.
