Garrison
NATIVE FORCES TAKE TOWN
Rec. noon
RUGBY, Nov. 26
British forces advancing on Gondar from the north-west have, during the past week, cut a road from Debra Tabor at Zagagi, 15 miles from Gondar. It is now known that the garrison of Feraber, which surrendered on November 21, consisted of 1600 whites and 700 natives. It is believed the garrison in the whole Gondar area is now reduced to between 12,000 and- 13,000.
In the west a British column has carried out a strong raid on lomariam, south-west of Chelga, causing heavy casualties and encountering strong opposition. It is believed that this attack drew strong reinforcements from Gondar and these have now been contained in lomariam and Area. After two days heavy fighting Ethiopian forces captured Ganda, 25 miles south-west of Gondar, and captured or killed the garrison of 100.
An R.A.F. Middle East communique says that in Abyssinia bombing and machine-gunning raids were made in the Gondar-Azozo area, direct hits being obtained on a camp and on a castle at Gondar.
