This is the one occasion in the year when past and present pupils gather together. Parents were also welcomed' by the headmistress, Miss E. M. Johnston, and the president of the Old Girls' Association, Mrs. J. Pool. The garden club display, for which there were 300 entries from pupils, was under the direction of Miss L. Sheat and Miss R. Allum. Dresses made by pupils were seen in the mannequin parade, organised by Miss E. Kibblewhite. Other features of the afternoon's entertainment were drill and dancing displays under the direction of Miss R. Gurr. A number'of stalls did good business and competitions in sweets and cakes made by pupils, and toys made of material costing not more than 1/, aroused interest.
