New Home For Mt. Albert Club
Although the official opening lias yet to take place, the .Mount Albert Ex-servieemen s Club had its first "open night** in the new club rooms, in the old Mount Albert District School (infants' department) on A\ cdnesday. There was a capacity attendance, and nine mats were fullv occupicd in the indoor bowls tourney. which was won bv a rink skipped by Frank Williamson. The lirst "kitty" was thrown by Mrs. H. Jcnkin. and Mr. Jenkin, president, rolled the first bowl. .
The visitors were loud in their praise of the amenities of the club, and particularly of the condition of the floor, which has newly been laid down and planed. A certain amount of work has still to be done, btit with the energetic "working bees" that have laboured consistently for nearlv three months on the internal reconstruction still on the job, the finishing touches are not expected to occupy more than a week or two.
