AVONDALE CLUB The 1941 road season opened to-day, with a 15-mile race for juniors and seniors. R. Meredith being first alter a season's performance of 13 times fastest time out of 20 starts. METROPOLITAN CLUB.—The dub held Its championships over 25 miles. All races were unpaced and an unsealed handicap for Mr. Gwllliams trophy was run in conjunction. Results: tA trade: D. Bills 1. J. BlckneU 3. / FAFATOETOE AMATEURS.—The handicap result of the club champiorunip held over the Pap<i-toetoe-Pokeno and return circuit, a distance of 47 miles, was:—A. C. Vosp (8m 30s), 2h 18m 535, 1; B. Simpson (12m), 2h 22m ss, 2: A. Docherty (20m), 2h 30m 335, 3. The championship result was:—B. N. Pinfold (scr), 2h 13m 6s. 1; G. Ludlam (scr), 2h 13m Bs, 2. MANUKAU CLUB.—In the Manukau Cycling Club's annual harbour championship of 42 miles, from Devonport to Point Chevalier. 33 started. Results:—C. A. Clarke (15.0), 2h 13m 465, 1; N. I. Sokolich (13.0). 2h llm 50s, 3; C. A. Scopes (15.0), 2h 13m Ses. 3; E. B. Ellis (15.0), 2h 15m 355, 4. Fastest time and the championship was won by C. W. Bhilton (scr). whose time was 2h 0m 40s. M. Johnson (scr). with 2h ,0m 41s. was second, and E. G. Mynott (scr). 2h 0m 425, third. AUCKLAND CLl'3.—The result of the 30-mile race to-day was:— J. Wade, scr. 1; K. Mathieson, 5.30. 2; K. Watson, 3.30, and K. Knisht and M. Knight, rjgad-heat. 3. J. Wade recorded fastest time with lh 20m 255.
