HATS OFF TO LADY BOWLERS
I would, with your permission, IB* to say a good word for the lady bowlers of the Nicholson Park Bov)* ing Club, who were attacked by * member of the Mount Eden Borough" Council recently. He says he has every respect for ladies who pity bowls and assist patriotic efforts. Then nvhy his sneering remarks? I am sure he will never find a mort loyal body than the above ladies, who have sent their sons overseas to fight for King and country, and are working on many patriotic coo** mittees and are surely entitled to a roll up, as well .as their boy friends., if they feel like it. Twenty-one pounds was quite good for the afternoon on their green last summer,.as owing to counter-attractions there 0 was not a great number of the public . present. So here's good luck'tt them! MR. BOWLER.*'.
