MILITARY SERVICE PROCEDURE FOR APPEALS (By Telegraph.— Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The announcement that married men will not be called until steps have been taken to ensure that all single men who can be released for the armed forces have been called up was made last evening by the Minister of National Service, the Hon. a. Semple. Adjournments previously granted would be reviewed by the appeal boards as quickly as possible. The onus of appealing rested primarily upon the men called up or his employer. "The Government does not intend to depart from its policy of declining to regard any industry or occupation as completely or permanentlv reserved," Mr. Semple said The only one way by which postponement of the military service of a fit man could be procured was by an appeal to an appeal board and all cases were dealt with on their merits I here was no authority for the exercise of Ministerial o'r official discretion on individual appeals.
