! (Special.) WANGAXLT, Thursday. I Algerian is likely to be shipped to Australia shorfly, as he is to fulfil his Melbourne and CaulHekl Cupt; engagements. ' The Beau Pere gelding has been given barrier practice, sprinting and good pace work this week. Ho is engaged in the \\ inter Cup at 8.2, two pounds above the minimum, and ho appears to be one of the best of the lightweights. The woirit-treated New Zealand horse in the Cauiticld and Melbourne Cups its Algerian with 7.11 and S.D (minimum t>.7). Ho has won nothing except hack races, ■but is required to give weight to Serenata, whoso victory in the New Zealand Cup was followed by a win in a main event at Trentham. He has also to concede weighd to Bflle fane, a dual Oaks winner. W. H. Dwyer expects to leave for Riccurton nest Thursday with Algerian, l\ koe and Globe Trotter. Gl'i'be Trotter and Pukoe were associated in n spin over six furlongs this morning on No. 1 grass track, which was on the heavy side after soaking rain overnight. They finished on terms in 1.19 V&, with Globe Trotter g-Aug very nicely. Globe Trotter is to run in the Braibazo'n Handicap at the Christ church Hunt on Saturday week, and with that" race into him the Safari gelding should be at his peak for the Winter Cup, in which he has 9.11.
Pekoe is engaged in the hurdles at the Hunt meeting, and if he goes on all right in the meantime lie should be hard to beat. He Iβ unsound and may not stand too much strenuous ■work. All Bunahy went half a mile to-day in 52Vfcs. He is to contest the Hack Flying at Marfon on Saturda3'. Ainigo, with Mies P. Jackson in the saddle, was given a run over «ix furlongs, which he left behind in 1.20, the first three taking 38e. This Beau Pere gelding did not put his ueiial dash into his gallop, but he looks all right, and even with 9.8 he must have a good chance in tfhe Riddiford Handicap on Saturday. First Girl ie in the first division of the Maiden on Saturday, and if she begins right the Pombal filly should keep the best of the others busy, although it will be her firet race. Baron Bold (Miss Jackson') went six furlongs on hie own, hitting out very freely to register 1.20'/6. He is in the hurdles at Marton, and if he leaves the barrier with the others will be handy at the finish.
