The bay gelding by Mypsotis from Final Shot will race ae Parthian Shot. He to aleo trained by I. Tucker. GALLOPING WELL A emart effort over four furlongs by Veiulam and Golden Bonnet on Tuesday morning indicated that both these gallopers are well forward. Ihere has never been any doubt about their speed but they have not been staying on too well at the end of their races. As they are likely to improve in that respect in the approaching season more money should be in store for them. PLANS ALTERED It was intended to send Kara Avis to Takanini to join H. Grays team, but the plans were altered and the bay gelding is still at Ellerelie. He is now being trained hv W J Fergus who has turned out his share of winners during the present term. Rara Avis has been rather difficult to train in the past, owing to minor ailments coming against him; therefore, the. best has not yet been seen of him. STRATFORD IMPROVING The schooling over hurdles that Stratford has bad during the past month has evidently improved him. judged on his latest work. On Tuesday morning he was eiven a run over half a mile and shaped better than he has done for some considerable time. As Stratford is in first-rate order and also displaying ability as a jumper: it may not be long before he earns something towards his upkeep.
FAVOURS HEAVY TRACK Although a shade on the jolly side Valwon a race, but his th)rd in the Corn wad Handicap last month was a solid effort. H he repeate that form :n the Jelhcoc Handicap, one mile, at the Pakuranga SeftKh'e will be difficult to bent especially if the going ie heavy on race ■ «v.
