RUSSIA AND WAR

PLEDGE OF SUPPORT

At a meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Tramway Employees' Union it was decided to "wholeheartedly endorse the resolution passed by the National Executive of the Federation of Labour pledging support to the Soviet Union, our latest ally, in its fight against Fascism."

The resolution passed at the meeting also agreed to endorse any action taken by the district council of the Federation of Labour in its protest against the action of the Auckland City Council in refusing a permit for a public meeting of citizens to express their approval of Mr. Churchill's action.
