EXPERT'S REPORT RECEIVED
I (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. The report of General Sir Guy (Williams on the home defence of i New Zealand had been received by ( the Government, the Minister of ; National Service, the Hon. R. Semple, 'said this morning when commenting on a statement concerning the future ' f the Home Guard made by Colonel i?.I. Aldred, the Home Guard commander for the Auckland district, i Mr. Semple added that the future of the Home Guard was under con'deration at present, and a complete report on the future of the organisation and its relationship with the army would bo made public in a few days time. The Government had brought General Sir Guy Williams, who ha.l a vast knowledge of modern warfare, to the Dominion to give some lead in the question of home dcfc-ncc. and his advice had now been received. • Colonel Aldred suggested that all reasonably fit men in the Home Guard would come under army con- j trol, and to the colonel's statement 'Mr. Semple replied: "I will ask the , people to take no notice of an indii vidua! who has published what lie i had no right to publish. What lie 'said is not official, and the public chou'iil tak n absolutely no notice of !it. They will got a correct official rtatement in a few days' time when ;the whole matter has been properly with. I am at a loss to know where this individual got his information from."
