DISTRESS SIGNAL SURPRISES
The Otv.ki Hack Handicap, the concluding event at Awapuni, was productive of an upset when Distress Signal ran to the front after straightening up and held off the fast-finishing each way favourite Halley quit'e comfortably. There was a great rare for the minor plaeings, Lucky Lulu putting in a run on the outer to iiQt up for third, with Valiant Lady and Mansura also putting in a late appearance. Raceaway, Ata Puwhero and Ocean Breeze, who were prominent on I'iie turn, were buried in the closing stages.
