CLERK ADMITS THEFTS (0.C.) WELLINGTON. Sunday. S.M., when commenting at the conclusion of a case in which a clerk pleaded guilty to stealing sums of i? 0 r? e £. tolamn S £8 - Counsel. Mr. W P. Rollings, said that the accused was » K r iP of the moneylenders wnen he committed the offences "Unfortunately this is not the first ca se that has come before me in which lower-paid clerks have been under pressure by moneylenders." said the magistrate. Detective-Sergeant W. McLennan said that the accused was 59 years of age. Part of his duties consisted of taking mail to the post.
