NEGLIGENCE CHARGE
WOMAN DRIVER ACQUITTED
A verdict of "not guilty" was returned by a jury in the case in which Mrs. Kathleen Rothwell (Mr Goldstine) was charged before Mr Justice Callan in the Supreme Court yesterday that she negligently drove a motor car in Victoria Road, Devonport, thereby causing bodily injury to Mrs. Jessie Rule, a pedestrian, who was crossing the street at a pedestrian crossing. Mrs. Rothwell gave evidence in which she said she was very close to Mrs. Rule before seeing her and then had no opportunity of avoiding accident. Tlze -accused, was-discharged. - I
