Staged a "Come-back"

Leading the "field" home in the Wanganui Harrier Club's race over 5i miles a fortnight ago was a figure unknown to the majority of present-day runners. The winner, it was disclosed, was Captain A. McL. Gourdie, now chaplain at the military camp on the Wanganui Racecourse, and ten years ago a prominent member of the Scottish Club, Wellington. Ten years ago he competed in the relay road race from Marton to Wanganui, running the WangaehuKaitoke lap. On Saturday, starting off the 3m 15s mark, he won the Wanganui cross-country race and also established fourth fastest time.
