The application of the Training College Club for permission t'o play Wellington Training College at Eden Park on August ; 23 was approved, subject to players required for representative teams being avail- . able for selection. : The Primary Schools' Union applied for permission to play the Roller Mills Shield competition at Eden Park durinr the week commencing August 1 25. This was granted and the union decided to apply to the New Zealand Union for the usual subsidy. An application from the Commercial Travellers' Club for the cancellation of Rugby matches on . July 26 was declined with regret. It was resolved to organise a raffle on that date in aid of the fund. Players Ordered Off The explanation of H Grant fOtahuhu) for ' his non-appearance before the committee last week was accepted. Grant was ordered off for indiscriminate kicking in the match with Training College, and was suspended for one Saturday, i A. G. George (Suburbs intermediates) was stood down for one playing Saturday for alleged flgli'- ; ing In a match against Eden. W. Peggs (Eden) did not appear and was stood down until he does so. P. Montague (Parnell-Tamaki) received j similar disciplinary action. I In connection with the Peter Mackie Trophy . comnetltion a report submitted by Mr. J. A.Malcolm. president of the Referees' Association 1 stated that since the introduction of the competition there had been a marked improvement in conduct among junior teams as compared with . | last year. 1 Ground officials for Saturday:—Eden Park.
